ABOUT the presentation (Youth Only)

Caught Up features snippets from the narrative hip hop film TURNT to illustrate some of the tactics used by sex traffickers to recruit victims, highlighting the specific impact on one of the most vulnerable populations: foster care youth. The film clips and discussion follow the journey of a foster care youth being recruited out of the group home, groomed and ultimately forced into trafficking.

The presenter will also discuss some of the ways traffickers recruit online and was to protect against that. This discussion is intended to give attendees an idea of the tools they use to support organizations that serve youth. Social Media Awareness-Human Trafficking. Learn ways to identify and understand signs of human trafficking. This workshop is provided as a tool to raise awareness and increase knowledge among PARENTS in our community. Tax Tip Training for Foster and Adoptive Families
AZ Association for Foster & Adoptive Parents (AZAFAP) will be hosting two “2019 Tax Tips for Foster and Adoptive Families” classes.

For those in the Maricopa County area, the class will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Scottsdale (10815 North 84th Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85260).

For those in the Pima County area, the class will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Gap Ministry in Tucson (2861 North Flowing Wells, Suite 121; Tucson, AZ 85705).

The class is free but you must register. To register, call (602) 884-1801 or emal kristi@azafap.org. . The class fills up fast each year, and attendees will receive a 3 hour training certificate via email the week after the class. Call AZAFAP at (602) 884-1801 if you have any questions.
